He has hired you to research what the strategic planning development and implementation process is and to address why it helps organizations be successful.

Read the following Strategic Plan Overview:

By definition, a strategic plan is designed to be used for 3 to 5 years or more. For your individual Strategic Plan project, you write a strategic plan using the following outline. You may choose a health care organization on which you would like to focus or develop a new health care business. Choose something you are passionate about and may implement in the future. It is recommended that if you choose to work with an existing organization, you add a new program or project to your plan. Suggestions for appropriate new projects include a new program or service for an existing organization, a new product line for an existing business, a new joint venture or acquisition, a new health care payer model for a state, or a new health care business.

Read the entire document. This is a multiweek assignment that has five components:

The organizational structure
Environmental analysis and setting strategic goals
The financial plan
Implementation
Evaluation and control
Select a health care organization on which you would like to focus.

Research your chosen organization’s governing structure.

Write a 1,400- to 1,750-word report on your findings in which you answer the following questions:

What are the organization’s mission and vision? What are the organization’s key values?
What strategic planning model does your chosen organization currently use?
Which theoretical framework such as systems theory or change theory does your chosen organization currently use?
What is the role of your organization’s mission vision and values in relationship to its strategic plan?

HCS 586 WEEK 4 Strategic Plan Part III – Financial Plan
Resource: Preopening Budget Example located on the student website

Design a 3- to 5-year financial plan to implement the goals and objectives created in Part II of your strategic plan. The deliverables for the financial plan include a projected budget created in Microsoft® Excel® and a report in Microsoft® Word that clarifies and explains the financial plan.

Section One: Projected Budget

The projected budget should be a Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheet that contains a 3- to 5-year financial projection that includes detailed expenditures, income, contingency, gain or loss, and ROI (if applicable).
Section Two: Financial Plan Explanation

Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word narrative discussing the fiscal detail of the plan and the assumptions that were used in developing the projected budget.
Include all the elements required in the projected budget.
Include capital expenditure planning and contingency plans for unexpected events.
Financial details that cannot be found may be assumed.
Budget summary: When explaining your budget, answer the following questions:
What is the organization’s current business model? Did you make any financial adjustments that go against the way the organization planned its finances in the past? If so, what were they, and why did you make the changes?
How did the organization’s internal resources and financial capabilities affect your financial plan? How will they affect implementation of the plan?
Cite at least four sources to support your information.

Analyze the industry for opportunities and threats.
Perform a gap analysis. A SWOT analysis helps determine performance gaps. It includes the following components:

Your market entry strategy and the procedure you plan on using to implement your strategic plan
Part V: Evaluation and Control
In 700 to 1,050 words, answer the following questions:
What measurement guidelines should be used to verify strategy effectiveness?
If your strategy does not go according to plan, at what point would you consider altering the strategic plan you have suggested?
What tolerance range should be in place that would call for corrective action if exceeded?
What corrective action would you need to make if the organization’s performance fell outside the tolerance range?
