Failure to understand and account for these differences can create a gulf between practitioners and the public they serve.

In this Assignment, you will examine a global health issue and consider the approach to this issue by the United States and by one other country.

This health issue is brought about by the importance of economic input in the health sector to better improve the quality of service offered to patients. It identifies also the ability of several industries to develop products and services that influence the health sector on a global scale.

Health care issues form one of the most common issues faced in the United States. The Universal health coverage, introduced in 2010 through the Affordable care act, made it possible for all employed individuals to receive health coverage, with the elderly and individuals suffering from various receiving extra coverage too (Milstead & Short, 2019). Polls indicate that a majority of Americans are content with the benefits their basic coverage offers, thus, indicating a health system that works for its citizens. Nigeria, alternatively, uses an approach where other sectors of the economy aid and finance growth and development in the health sector. This move has brought challenges to running the health sector as there have been difficulties in ensuring these sources of finance are blended together (Safiyanu & Sulaiman, 2019). Public insurance coverage has received minimal adoption, with private coverage being considerably expensive for the majority of the population.

The Affordable Care Act of 2020 helped maximize health coverage with provisions that also ensured on patient protection and continuous improvement in nurse motivational packages and learning. This has improved service delivery. Its weak point is that the health costs per individuals are the highest globally and there is incomplete coverage of the citizens. This has led to the unequal distribution of healthcare resources.
Nigeria’s National Health act of 2014 brought about immense improvements in the healthcare sector (Safiyanu & Sulaiman, 2019). There have been major developments in health care information, technology, facilities and equipping nurses with the relevant skills. Service delivery and cooperation between the various sectors that facilitate financing of the health sector. The weakness of this policy is that it does not have an efficient plan through which the eradication of issues within the health system will be done.
How The Social Determinants of Health May Impact the Global Health Issue
Maintaining operations to address the health issue is challenging as the sector operates within a fixed budget. This leads to constraints and a lower level of service delivery that expected. In Nigeria, the high poverty level puts a strain on the adoption of measures that may help bring change and improvements to the sector.

The United States is notably one of the largest contributors of health aid to foreign countries. It has a well-developed portfolio of countries which the US offers its medical assistance to. Nigeria has not had much contribution to the global medical industry as their health policies are mainly national.
How The Health Policy Might Impact the Role of The Nurse in Each Country
There is a major issue on social justice in Nigeria as there is lack of proper distribution of healthcare resources, hence, nurses are not well equipped or properly trained to the expected knowledge and skill level. The ACA has played a major role in ensuring nurses pursue education continuously, thus, improving on their skill level and ability to provide excellent service to patients (Safiyanu & Sulaiman, 2019).
How Global Health Issues Impact Local Healthcare Organizations and Policies
There is a well-developed governance system which addresses any national and global health issues (Safiyanu & Sulaiman, 2019). This has made it possible for the United States to handle any developing issues, thousand conditions that may pose a risk to the people; its leadership provides strong public policies that ensure efficiently in the health care industry. Nigeria suffers major issues in healthcare due to lack of proper health infrastructure. Minor recessions or negative impacts on the global economy usually devastate the operations in the country’s health sector as it is not shielded from such adversities.
