Conducting professional nursing cares necessitates the use of the nursing process, according to nursing actions standards in Canada and the United States. As a result, they strongly encourage nurses to participate in activities that increase their knowledge of the nursing process. Nurses, on the other hand, frequently fail to carry out the nursing procedure in a systematic manner. The nursing process is often used to replace regular caring performance by nurses (White et al, 2019). The number of patients, having enough understanding of the nursing process, and the quantity of nurses are all important aspects that influence the nursing process. Inadequate understanding among nurses is a major factor in the nursing process’s lack of enforcement. Criticism of the nursing method stemmed from a lack of understanding of the process (White et al, 2019). As a result, nurses must gain a better understanding of the nursing process in order to assist them in resolving the issues they face.
The nursing process as a change process is a nursing change theory that helps diagnose the problem (Toney-Butler & Thayer, 2022). Based on the four processes, professionals can tie the change process to the nursing process. Assessment is the first stage. It encourages professionals to pinpoint the issue as data must be gathered and analyzed by the nurses. The second stage is to make a plan. The entire workforce will be involved in this process because they are the ones who will be affected by the change. In the system, as well as the adjustment of structures, procedures, and rules, relationships among the employees are critical. This change has an impact on workforce requirements, as it affects the recruitment of new people with diverse skills, attitudes, expertise, and motivations. However, according to (White et al, 2019), there are three strategies that professionals can employ to help unfreeze employees.
The first strategy is to share data. It aids staff comprehension of the proposed change’s arguments. The second strategy is to challenge previously held views. It justifies that the target system’s new goal is insufficient, inefficient, or erroneous, necessitating adjustment (White et al, 2019). The third strategy is to provide psychological security. It lowers the dangers by ensuring enough security for the employeesand the plan is then put into action. The change agent uses a nice environment and approach to persuade members to adopt it. Finally, evaluation is done and specialists keep an eye on the indications to see if the objective have been achieved (White et al, 2019).
